God is Almighty, Righteous and Holy

For, At just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. He alone can never die, and he lives in light so brilliant that no human can approach him. No human eye has ever seen him, nor ever will. All honor and power to him forever! Amen.

Who is God?

He is God Almighty, Righteous, and Holy.

He is unapproachable in our sinful state.

A sinful man in the presence of the Holy God is doomed.

But God took the initiative.

God is so holy that man cannot even understand His name.  The transliteration of the Tetragrammaton of His name is YHWH.  He gave His name first to Moses.  When God took the initiative and came to us as the Christ, He chose a name above every name but so common no one would notice; Jesus.

In the first century, Jesus or Yeshua was a common name given to children.  The name means "YHWH saves, (is) salvation, (is) a saving-cry, (is) a cry-for-saving, (is) a cry-for-help, (is) my help."  There could be no other name given to Christ

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)

We could not approach God.  We had no way to Him.  If we wanted to.  God took the initiative and came to us.  He made His dwelling among us.  Only by His coming could man see the glory of the Holy One.

The only path there is to approach God is through the name Jesus who is the Christ.

NEWS FLASH--we are never disqualified from serving Jesus.  The ways in which we serve may change but if we are a follower of Jesus then we are commanded to share the gospel with others and to love others.  Go into the world and preach the gospel. Out of Darkness

Isaiah 9:2 I grew up in the country.  There wasn’t much besides the two miles of woods behind my house and lots of outdoors.  My best friend lived about half a mile down the road.  During the summer we would spend most of the day in the woods behind our houses.  At some point in the afternoon or evening one of our mothers would yell into the woods for us to come home. Losing My Religion
